Come on! You’ve played enough RPGs to know there’s always the guy that teaches you everything you need to know in the game. He’s often old and wise and he knows everything about the world in and he’s ready to explain everything to you, from the basic WASD keyboard combination to move around to the unleashing of those scary powers that any RPG character hide under a coat of adorable naïvete. And if you’ve never played a RPG you know by heart the rules of the Hero’s Journey, as Joseph Campbell perfectly laid out. …
This week we’ll start with:
Klyne — Like a razor
Klyne is probably my best weekly discovery. I can’t stop listening to EVERYTHING of this duo since then. Remixes included (they’re just sooo good)
Bonus track: they’re COLORS performance is a total must. So much talent condensed in a single clip
Cody Lee 李 — 我愛你
Moving on to Japan: Cody Lee 李 is genuinely the most bizarre, incredible and freakingly most funky cool thing I’ve seen in a while. I’m not the same person anymore.
Tatsuro Yamashita - SPACY
And speaking of Japan, SPACY is…
So I finally read “Skip the Line”, James Altucher new book. I found the author talking about in an article here on Medium and I decided to give it a try. I said “why not?” after all, is not the first time I cross my path to Altucher’s thoughts. The first time was by reading another, interesting, book: “Choose Yourself”. So full of knowledge and common sense it was, that I devoured it in a couple of days and I never looked back.
Probably the best advice in that book was to prioritize yourself, make sure to take care of…
As every night also tonight I checked my e-mails. Inbox zero is an impossible chimera for me and as always there are hundreds of mails waiting for me: I’m ready to delve into an ocean some work-related updates and delete some discount announcement from clothing lines I’m not following anymore.
But this time I got a surprise.
An e-mail from another personal account I’ve never met with a list of random articles from the deep, deep and darkest recess of the web
Some totally never requested links on dubious “alternative truths” regarding the virus and the new vaccines completely out…
Two of days ago the Italian Ambassodor Luca Attanasio has been brutally killed in an ambush by a group of armed men in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He lost his life together with the driver and a personal bodyguard while on a mission to monitor a project of the World Food Program in the province of North Kivu.
It was strange waking up with the chirps and whistles of sparrows this morning. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, but since that day that I decided to shut off the internet noise I started to notice the real “noise” outside: birds, nature and the occasional traffic jam. Those fleeble sounds that are usually suffocated by the overwhelming daily rush that keeps your senses alert: “produce, produce, produce” says the voice in the mind. Who has time to listen to the birds?
Yet I had apparently all the time to listen to one bird in particular that, with an…
I listen to a cargo load of music every day. I like to discover new things and keep my ears and brain excited by new vibration. Here’s a selection of some of the best I’ve recently found :
This is already a new favorite. Sinkane is pure vibe & energy and Chief Boima made an amazing work at revaluing the original music adding a layer of electronical sophistication. The video is simple yet is everything.
Bonus: the amazing Roosevelt Remix of Sinkane’s track – Telephone
Let’s talk LEISURE, shall we? I don’t know how this amazing New Zealandese…
I read a lot of things in the internet. Some are capable of stimulating thoughts and reflection other leave me dubious.
These days on Medium I’ve found this article:
It was a follow-up to another article, from the same author, that already tackled the problem of “white people” and was welcomed with vitriol attacks from ignorant trolls and supremacists. Let me state it clearly: nobody should be attacked so violently for his/her opinions. Nothing can justify violence, insults and vulgarity and I have all sympathy for the author for exposing herself so audaciously to the public.
Having said that, there…
The global pandemic that hit the world in 2020 has been, among all the tragic things, a long-due wake-up call to all the lethal disparities that are foundational to western wealth but remain somehow blurred in the sea of claims and false-flags that shape the daily narrative.
A rude awakening came to light in the US during the last year, where reality has shown everyone how black folks have been disproportionally hit by the effect of the virus mostly because of the unequal wealth distribution that keeps minorities as the most expendable victims of unsafe, low-salary essential jobs, in comparison…
The struggle for many native English speakers is to learn a new, foreign language. For me it has been exactly the opposite: as a native Italian, mastering English has been a long fight… but also an inspiring experience.
I don’t know if to consider myself lucky or not: living on the bordering region between two countries means that your learning experience gets moulded by your immediate context, while the bigger picture remains neglected in the background. …
